The purpose of this publication is to provide recommendations and a methodology for the safe design of venting systems, the design of hydrogen vent stacks aims at preventing the hazards from deflagration, detonation and thermal radiation. This publication covers the design, installation and maintenance of hydrogen vent systems used for equipment located at a customer site.

This publication is an industry-wide guideline for in-service mechanical integrity of PSA units and is intended to contribute to the operational safety and reliability of these units. This publication is not intended to address the details of design and installation of PSA vessels and piping. This publication applies to PSA units with reformer syngas, refinery off-gas, and other hydrogen containing off-gases. This publication covers isolation valves, control valves, check valves, pressure relief valves, drain, and vent valves in air separation units (ASUs), their backup and storage piping system, and customer station bulk storage tank systems. It addresses the design, material selection, manufacturing, cleaning, installation, operation and maintenance of oxygen service valves operating at temperatures below -30°C.
