The purpose of this publication is to inform and guide interested parties on the procedures and practices related to the mechanical integrity of syngas outlet systems. This publication presents a baseline for safe reformer header system operation. This publication provides a technical basis that can be used to present a common viewpoint to government and regulatory authorities, ensuring proper application of rules and regulations.

This publication covers isolation valves, control valves, check valves, pressure relief valves, drain, and vent valves in air separation units (ASUs), their backup and storage piping system, and customer station bulk storage tank systems. It addresses the design, material selection, manufacturing, cleaning, installation, operation and maintenance of oxygen service valves operating at temperatures below -30°C.

This publication gives an overview of the different hazards of those electronic gases and provide awareness and guidance for the personnel working in facilities that package, distribute and use those gases. It is not meant to take the place of work instructions or operating procedures, but rather to assist personnel to identify generic steps that need to be taken in their routine operations as well as to recognize issues that could result in injury to personnel or in damage to equipment.

Liquid air has properties that differ from those of other cryogenic liquids, such as liquid oxygen or liquid nitrogen, and which can give rise to specific safety hazards. EIGA has therefore recognised the need for a publication addressing safety in production, storage, distribution, transportation and use of liquid air. It is intended to explain the specific nature of this two-component product and the need for expert involvement in all aspects of production and use of liquid air. General guidelines for the application of liquid air are also covered, but it is not the intention of this publication to review specific applications.

This publication provides guidance when handling calcium carbide and general recommendations for calcium carbides storage areas. This publication is intended for those who are involved in the production of acetylene where calcium carbide is used.

Guidance for safe design, installation, operations, maintenance and quality management of oxygen 93 concentrators systems in healthcare facilities

This publication provides specific guidelines for on-site nitrogen generators for food use. An on-site nitrogen generator separates nitrogen from air for use directly at the user location delivered by pipeline. In terms of gas flow rates, on-site nitrogen generators range from a few litres per minute up to many tons per hour. In the course of discussions with customers and authorities, requests are often made for compliance certificates related to nitrogen specifications, hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) studies, materials of construction and consumable materials for those on-site gas production units: pressure swing adsorption (PSA), membrane air separation system and cryogenic air separation system that are dedicated for food use. On-site nitrogen generators for food use, for example for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) or inerting applications, are installed at customer sites by either gas companies or equipment suppliers and can be operated by either gas companies or food companies. Nitrogen generators which use PSA and membrane technologies have potential hazards that shall be recognised and addressed in view of the applicable food laws. The nitrogen produced from an on-site generator is used in many food applications as a processing aid (without purity limit) or additive (E941 as per Regulation 2012/231/EC laying down specific purity criteria on food additives other than colours and sweeteners) [1].[1] Typical applications include but are not limited to: atmosphere protection of liquid and solid foodstuffs; tank blanketing; liquids mixing; liquid pressure transfer; modified atmosphere packaging; injection in liquid for container pressurisation; decarbonation; deoxygenation; beverage dispensing; and aerosol propulsion.

This is a guideline on these systems working in a home environment with high pressure oxygen and to provide advice to the manufacturers, designers, purchasers, homecare service providers, users (patients or care givers) and prescribers.

This publication provides information and guidance for EIGA members and specifically to directors, technical managers, company environmental specialists, operations and site managers and to national industrial gas associations on management of fluorinated gases (F gases). This publication applies to the specification design, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment containing F gases and the distribution and use of F gases and products containing F gases and specifically on the implementation of the F Gases Regulation enacted in May 2014 by Regulation (EU) No 517/2014.

This publication provides details on nitrous oxide emissions from a nitrous oxide plant. The user may adapt this information with their information specific to their own plant and obtain an estimate of the emissions to air. The basic philosophy behind the publication is the minimisation of emissions, nuisance and wastes of any kind and their disposal as it is stated in ISO 14001, Environmental Management Systems - Requirements with Guidance for Use.
