This publication details the environmental impacts of the management of cylinder filling operations and gives guidelines on how to reduce their environmental impact. It is intended to serve as a guide for Industrial Gases cylinder filling operations managers and personnel to assist in putting in place a formal environmental management system that can be certified by an accredited 3rd party verifier. It also aims to provide a guide for operating managers for identifying and reducing the environmental impacts of these operations. For EIGA Members, this guidance document is supported by a training package TP 04 Cylinder Filling Plant Environmental Issues to help communication of the guidance and promote discussions with staff at operations sites.

This publication details the environmental impacts of the management of acetylene plants and gives guidelines on how to reduce those impacts. This publication is intended to serve as a guide for acetylene plant operations to assist in putting in place a formal environmental management system that can be certified by an accredited third-party verifier. It aims to provide a guide for operations managers to identify and reduce the environmental impacts of these operations. It also provides the basis for establishing the Best Available Techniques for the purposes of the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED).

The EIGA Environmental Legislation Guide covers environmental legislation originating from the European Union. Whilst there is a wide variety of environmental legislation in each member state, the main driving forces come from the European Union with over 400 legislative instruments put in place since 2001. This publication provides guidance on how European legislation concerns the main environmental aspects relevant to the Industrial Gases Industry. In all cases the relevant national legislation should be consulted for specific implementation in each country or region.

This publication provides guidance relevant to the Industrial and Medical Gases Industry for implementation of an environmental management system according to ISO 14001 - 2015 Environmental management systems - Requirements with guidance for use. There are several linked EIGA publications that provide more details on general environmental issues, legislation for the gas industry and operational good environmental practices. A list of these linked publications and their links to the ISO 14001 environmental management systems standard is provided in Appendix A of the publication.
