WG-7 – Medical and Breathing Gases
WG-7 reports to the Medical Gases Council and focusses on the regulation, quality and safety of medical and breathing gases.
WG-7 mission: to promote the safety, quality, regulation and standardization activities, in order to ensure the safety of the patients, end-users and professionals administering medical and breathing gases.
WG-7 activities include:
- To liaise with European Medicines Agency (EMA), European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), World Health Organization (WHO).
- To act as a focal point within EIGA for matters concerning registration, production, filling, storage, handling, use, distribution and disposal of medical and breathing gases.
- To cooperate and coordinate with other EIGA working groups with regard to work programmes and expert advice.
- To define industry best practices and to prepare relevant publications and user recommendations.
- To demonstrate to external stakeholders of medical and other life support gases that EIGA is the recognised Industry Association on the subject of these products.
