TP 052/25 – Transporting Customers’ Gases More Safely – Retail Staff

(EIGA Members' area)
(Revision of TP 52/17)

Every year many incidents occur during transportation of gas cylinders or cryogenic receptacles in inappropriate vehicles. Unfortunately, this frequently results in severe incidents. Many of these could have been avoided if basic safety rules had been followed. EIGA has developed a serious of publications aimed at helping customers to transport gases more safely in "non-dedicated" vehicles. This Training Package is intended to be used to train and raise awareness of retail centre staff on the hazards and precautions to be taken and advice to be given to customers, for gas cylinders. The presentation includes examples of potential incidents and also provides guidance on certain specific circumstances when they should refuse to supply the customer with product. This publication is part of the EIGA Campaign: Safe Transport of Gases or Dry Ice in "Non Dedicated" Vehicles
