Environmental Award 2025

The Environmental Award recognises projects that deliver tangible environmental benefits while supporting industrial performance.

The 2025 award was presented to Messer Benelux for the Hyoffwind green hydrogen project — one of the first industrial-scale electrolysers in the Benelux.
The project combines renewable energy, industrial expertise and existing infrastructure to produce low‑carbon hydrogen, while supporting grid stability by converting excess renewable power.
It illustrates how industrial gases contribute in practice to Europe’s decarbonisation, through solutions that are already being deployed at scale.
