TP 053/24 – Transporting Your Dry Ice More Safely – Retail Staff

(Revision of TP 053/17)

Every year many incidents occur during transportation of Dry Ice (solid carbon dioxide) in inappropriate vehicles. Unfortunately, this frequently results in severe incidents. EIGA has developed a serious of publications aimed at helping customers to transport Dry Ice more safely in "non dedicated" vehicles. This Training Package is intended to be used to train and raise awareness of retail centre staff on the hazards and precautions to be taken and advice to be given to customers, for Dry Ice. The presentation includes examples of potential incidents and also provides guidance on certain specific circumstances when they should refuse to supply the customer with product. This publication is part of the EIGA Campaign: Safe Transport of Gases or Dry Ice in "Non Dedicated" Vehicles
