Klaus Krinninger passed away on 10 June 2025.

Klaus was the first EIGA Board Member representing the National Associations in 2011 and 2012 in the EIGA Board of Directors, when this position was created.

We will remember his kindness and his dedication to the sector.
Our condolences go to his wife Penelope and his sons Daniel and Oliver.

Denmark takes over the EU Presidency

Denmark assumes the Presidency at a pivotal moment.

With the European Commission actively rolling out strategic communications and legislative proposals, and co-legislators deeply engaged in key dossiers, the six-month term will be densely packed. Priority areas, such as competitiveness, defence, budget, and climate, will be navigated under a backdrop of increased geopolitical uncertainty.

Visit to Joint Research Center

EIGA had the privilege to visit the Joint Research Center in Petten, Netherlands, and was welcomed by the team of Unit C.1 (Battery and Hydrogen Technologies).

Philippe Cornille, Jan Strybol and Sandrine Devos enjoyed visiting the Electrolyser Testing Facility and the High Pressure Gas Testing Facility.

This is an other step towards more exchanges with the EU Institutions.

AGM2025/25

The 35th Annual General Assembly of EIGA took place on 30 May 2025.

COM 12/25 - Joint statement: Urgent need for European Commission to correct course on the draft Delegated Regulation on Low Carbon Fuels

EIGA and 16 other signatories have released a joint statement on the urgent need to correct course on the draft Delegated Regulation on Low Carbon Fuels.

The signatories representing the whole energy value chain are calling on the Commission to ensure that this Regulation enables the production and import of all types of low carbon hydrogen, and recognises when producers can achieve better environmental performance.

This is critical for supporting the scaleup of the hydrogen market in Europe, which already faces major challenges that undermine the EU's ability to meet its climate objectives.

BN 34/25 - Management of PFAS Containing Materials

(EIGA Members' area)

For safety reasons, the Industrial and Medical Gases sector are required to use PFAS containing materials. This is included by many Industry Standards (including ISO and CEN) that refer to and require the use of PFAS containing material. The aim of this Briefing Note is to maintain safe operations and manage the life cycle of PFAS containing material to avoid PFAS exposure and PFAS being released into the environment.
