Guaranteeing high quality medical gases in Europe

The General Pharmaceutical Legislation (GPL) text currently lacks safety guidelines for on-site production of medicinal gases in healthcare settings.

EIGA believe it is crucial to craft and establish clear and harmonised legislation for the implementation of safety measures related to all medicinal gases in healthcare settings., whether through marketing authorisation or via on-site manufacturing .

As part of its advocacy, EIGA reached out to the EU Hospital Pharmacist Association (EAHP), who agreed to co-sign the EIGA Communication. This shows that there is support for our message within the profession.

The main objective of this group is to support the safety, regulatory and standardisation activity specific to ammonia production and ammonia utilization as a hydrogen carrier including storage, loading/unloading.
