This document describes best practices to be used for the safe preparation of compressed gas mixtures containing both oxidising and flammable components. It includes key principles for the safe formulation of compressed oxidant-fuel gas mixture by trained and competent personnel as well as considerations for the design of gas mixing equipment.
The document has been reviewed by a panel of experts from the gas associations members of the International Harmonisation Committee, as part of the statutory 5-year review of all EIGA documents.
Apart from editorial changes, this globally harmonised document has been amended to introduce new safety recommendations in section 6.1 Gas mixing equipment following several incidents that happened with the use of untied diaphragm valves.
Other technical changes are identified at the beginning of the document.
