Doc. 13/12 Oxygen Pipeline and Piping Systems

Oxygen pipeline and piping systems are used extensively within the industrial gases industry and ensuring their safe design and operation is an essential requirement for EIGA members.
The scope of this document is for metal oxygen pipelines, distribution piping systems, and gaseous oxygen piping on an air separation plant external to the coldbox. It is limited to gaseous oxygen with a temperature range between - 30 °C and 200 °C (-22 °F and 400 °F), pressures up to 21 MPa (3000 psig) and a dew point of -“30 °C (-22 °F) or lower depending on local conditions.
The purpose of this publication is to further the understanding of those engaged in the safe design, operation, and maintenance of oxygen pipeline and piping systems. It is not intended to be a mandatory standard or code.
This publication identifies the general hazards, and provides guidance to reduce their frequency and consequences.  It provides safety guidance and addresses design and operating practices only as they affect safety and is intended for those who involved in the design, operation and maintenance of oxygen pipeline and piping systems.
The publication is part of the programme to develop Globally Harmonised publications amongst Regional Gas Associations.
