EIGA Winter Summit 2026
A Strong Start to the Year for the Industrial Gases Community

Last week, the EIGA community gathered in Antwerp for the 2026 edition of the EIGA Winter Summit, a two‑day event dedicated this year to a topic at the very heart of our industry: Mastering Oxygen Safely.
From the opening session to the final discussions, the Summit once again demonstrated its essential role as a platform for knowledge‑sharing, cross‑sector collaboration, and collective progress.

A Programme Designed Around Real‑World Needs
The Summit opened with remarks from President Adolf Walth and General Secretary Philippe Cornille, highlighting EIGA’s long-standing and profound connection with oxygen – a molecule central to our industry, yet demanding the highest level of expertise and care.
Under the leadership of Sabrina Zucchelli, Chair of the Organising Committee, participants were guided through a carefully curated programme mixing:

- Forward‑looking keynote insights into global oxygen trends
- Technical deep dives on incident learnings, ignition mechanisms, and oxygen clean inspections
- Perspectives from safety experts, researchers, and industrial practitioners
- Case studies that bridged theory and everyday operational challenges

Deep Dive: Innovation, Safety and the Future of Oxygen
One of the highlights of this year’s edition was the Deep Dive on Oxygen Safety, which brought together experts from across EIGA membership, and covered:

- Fundamental oxygen safety principles
- Fire hazards in electrolyser systems
- Ignition risks in high‑temperature or high‑pressure equipment
- Lessons learned from packaged gas filling operations
- Practical guidance on oxygen clean inspections

These concrete, experience‑based contributions reinforced a core message: continuous improvement in oxygen safety is non-negotiable.

Showcasing Member Expertise and Engagement
Beyond the technical sessions, the Summit once again served as an opportunity for Member Companies to demonstrate their commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability. Teams from across Europe actively contributed to the discussions, panels, and knowledge‑exchange moments that shape our shared progress.

Their participation is central to what makes the EIGA community unique: a collaborative ecosystem where perspectives meet, expertise circulates, and best practices move quickly from one company to the next.
